RW Sleighter provided architecture and site engineering services for the complete renovation of the former VFW Post located on Main Street in Uniontown, PA. The building renovation converted the existing structure into a 2 story 28,000 square foot commercial office building. The design included the complete demolition of all non-structural interior walls. New steel framing and concrete deck was built inside the masonry shell of the existing building to provide structural support for a new second floor. A new main entrance was built on the east side of the building, adjacent to the parking lot. This location is safer and more practical than the original entrance on Main Street. The new entrance included an elevator and stair tower providing a separate entrance to the 2nd floor to accommodate separate tenants for each floor.
