RW Sleighter provided Master Planning Services for the Uniontown Hospital 17 acre Campus located in Uniontown, PA. The Master Plan starts with the closure of public streets and the realignment of others located on the campus grounds. The resulting road configuration moves streets and traffic away from the hospital facility and allows for landscaping and green-space directly adjacent to hospital grounds. Grading and earthwork throughout the campus but focused near a new loop drop off and central plaza will level the campus core enhancing the overall patient experience when approaching the new Garden Entrance. Reconfiguration of the existing parking lots brings continuity to the site layout and focuses on efficient flow of vehicles and convenient patient and visitor parking closer to their ultimate destination. Parking lots are also designed with larger parking spaces, additional landscaping and green-space, and better lighting levels to ease use, improve the overall campus experience and improve safety.
The master plan also eliminates the use of offsite leased parking through construction of a 3 story 400+ car employee parking garage along Berkley Avenue. Building additions included in the master plan include a 13,000 sf new Garden Entrance with a deli and conference space, a 4,000 sf IT addition, and a 4,500 sf addition to the administration building with entry and meeting space. The Garden Entrance addition with its covered drop-off and outdoor plaza is the central component of the Campus Master Plan. An elevated plaza behind the Garden Addition provides outdoor seating for patients and staff and connects the new employee entrance and parking garage. The project when complete will change the essential character of the Uniontown Hospital Campus and provide beneficial aspects to the Hospital patients, staff and community.
